RETURN

The City of Poughkeepsie invited us to design a small memorial on the eastern side of City Hall, along Civic Center Plaza. The memorial displays two pieces of steel the City had received from the World Trade Center, and serves as a small space of reflection for the community.

To highlight the steel sculpture at the heart of this new gathering space, our team defined the plaza with a neutral, natural paverscape that is enveloped at its periphery by small evergreens. The landscaping is embellished with a colorful display of flowers at the entrance path to the memorial space, and is flanked on either side with small trees and seating arrangements.
