Tinkelman Architecture was selected to re-imagine the high-visibility site located at the gateway to the Village of Fishkill. The site was previously occupied by a restaurant, a small ice cream stand, and a residential building dating from the 1800's. The entire site was re-designed to incorporate pedestrian-friendly outdoor space open to all, landscaped parking, and sculpture garden. The restaurant building was expanded and renovated to accommodate first-floor retail and second-floor office space. The remaining buildings will be sensitively remodeled to retain their unique character. The site design work with and enhance the pedestrian orientation of the Village, and the architecture will play off the character of the existing main building, to create an ensemble that is compatible with and appropriately scared to this important small urban center. The entire complex provides approximately 11,000 square feet of commercial space.
